Unterstützung für belgische Fan-Kampagne
Verfasst: 18. Mär 2011, 17:56
Die belgische Fanorganisation SFP ersucht um europäische Solidarität unter den Supportern. Die belgische Liga möchte eine Ligamodus-Änderung durchboxen, die an argentische Verhältnisse erinnert. U.a.
The Belgian first League (Jupiler Pro League) decided on a competition reform. Let us try to explain it in a very simplified way:
• At the end of the competition the 6 highest ranked teams will play a Play Off against each other for the championship and for the European tickets (minus the last one). They start with half of their points.
• The numbers 7 – 14 play a Play Off in two rounds. They all start at the Play Offs with 0 points. Winners of the 2 rounds play against each other. The winner of PO2 – I and PO2-II plays against the 4th of Play Off 1 for the last European ticket.
• Delegation to the 2nd League will be calculated on the results of the last 3 seasons. They get a financial bonus for the investments they have made in the highest League. So you can play a season with 0 points and still stay in the highest League, while a team with 14 points delegates. You even could get qualified for the Play Offs and in the same time have to delegate. In that case another team will delegate in your place.
Can you still follow, or do you need a spreadsheet? So do we.
Although the League promised us that our voice would be heard, there was no consultation at decision time. Last season we had to pay outrageous prices for the Play Offs at some games, so we organized a boycott. They promised us an agreement on maximum prices. We still don’t have them on paper.
As this whole system neglects the fan culture all over Belgium and as we weren’t taken serious the fans of all teams in 1st and 2nd league organized a protest campaign (action 17). Last 3 weeks we got a lot of media and the League invited us for a meeting. At the moment we need every support we can get to keep the pressure on the kettle.
So we ask all of you, fellow supporters, to support us in a visible way:
Imagine that we can get pictures of supporters groups in Europe showing a banner with a text such as text:
• “can you explain the Belgian competition?” (imagine… the Austrian supporters showing this during the interland Austria Belgium!) (they will check the Belgian busses on protest banners)
• Or if you have some kind of discussion going on about football and fans position … “don’t fool us, we’re no Belgians”
• Or… “solidarity with Action 17”
• …
And send us some pictures, we take care of the exposure.
In the name of the game, we would be very gratefull,
